ClarityOS is a personal mental-load assistant that helps you get what's on your mind out of your head, decide what matters, share the work, and let go of the rest. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
ClarityOS is AI-powered. To coach you and to capture and organize what you share, the text you send (typed messages and captured tasks) and the transcript of any voice input are processed by a third-party AI provider (Anthropic) through our secure server. Anthropic processes your content to return a result to you and, under its commercial/API terms, does not use it to train its models and deletes it from its systems within 30 days. Please avoid sharing anything you would not want processed by an AI service.
If you use voice input, your recorded audio is sent to our transcription provider (Deepgram) to convert it to text. The audio is used only to produce that transcript and is not retained by us afterward.
Connecting Gmail or a calendar is optional and entirely under your control; you can disconnect at any time in Settings.
When you choose to delegate or send a task to a contact, we send a one-time message — by SMS (via Twilio) or email (via Resend) — containing the task details, any deadline or note you added, and your name as the sender. We send these only when you initiate them. SMS recipients can reply STOP to opt out.
ClarityOS is a small operation, and the coach gets better mainly by us noticing where it fell short. We review conversations, coaching responses, and the suggestions the app produced in order to find where it was unhelpful, repetitive, or wrong — and we use what we learn to rewrite the coach's instructions.
This means someone on our team may read content you have entered, including chat messages, brain-dump notes, and reflections, for that purpose. We use it only to improve ClarityOS. We do not use it to build a profile of you, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not share it outside the service providers listed below.
This is a separate thing from AI model training. Your content is not used to train Anthropic's models or anyone else's (see "AI processing"). What changes is our own coaching instructions, written by us.
If you would rather your content not be used this way, turn it off under Settings → Privacy. That page also shows worked examples of what this review actually produces, so you can see what you are deciding about. You can change your mind at any time, and nothing else in the app works differently either way.
Joining a household is optional. You join by accepting an invitation from someone who already has one.
While you are in a household, some of your information is visible to the other members:
Your individual tasks, brain-dump notes, chat messages, and reflections are not shown to your household. Only the count of what you completed feeds the summaries above; the content itself stays yours.
These household summaries and suggestions are written by AI in the same way as the rest of the app (see "AI processing"), from those counts, categories, and shared task text. They are visible to everyone in the household.
You can leave a household at any time under Settings → Family. When you leave, the tasks you shared into the household are removed from it; your own tasks, notes, and history are untouched. If you are the household's owner, leaving ends the sharing for everyone in it and deletes the shared tasks and past family weekly reviews. Leaving a household does not change your subscription — moving off the Family plan is a separate change you make under Settings → Account.
Your content is stored with our hosting/database provider (Supabase) under access controls that restrict your data to your account, except for the household information described above. We share data only with the service providers needed to run the app — Supabase (storage and authentication), Anthropic (AI processing), Deepgram (voice transcription), Stripe (payments), Google (Gmail, only if you connect it), Twilio (SMS delivery), and Resend (email delivery) — and only as needed to provide the service. We also share data with legal authorities if required by law, and with the people you choose when you delegate a task. We do not sell your data or share it for advertising.
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data in transit (TLS) and at rest, and we restrict access to your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.
ClarityOS is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect their data.
We may update this policy. We'll revise the "Last updated" date above, and for material changes we'll email the address on your account before the change takes effect. We don't rely on in-app notices for this — you shouldn't have to open ClarityOS to find out something changed.
